Everything about warehouse locations

Warehouse locations

You can create warehouse locations via the warehouse location tool in our WMS. By default, only a single product or batch can be stored in each location. Explicit permission must be given to store multiple products or batches in the same location, see multi-product locations.

Multi-product locations
It is possible to store multiple products or batches in one location. This option must be enabled for the product’s client and for the location’s zone. It is also possible to set a maximum for the number of SKUs and items per warehouse. Multiple products can also be stored in one location if they are linked together via the wholesale system. This means the products in question are physically identical.

High care
High-value products can be stored in a separate area of the warehouse with better security. By marking locations in this zone as ‘high care‘, orders of the products in these locations are kept separate when picking with a scanner.

Routing
The locations in a warehouse are assigned a routing order. This determines the order in which pickers are sent to the various locations when picking orders.

E-check locations
For stock that is placed at the e-check for e-check added products.

Relocation
With the scanner, it is possible to move stock in the warehouse from one location to another. This is not possible if the location contains orders waiting to be picked. Otherwise, an order picker might be sent to a location to pick items that are being moved to a different location at that exact moment. Moving stock from one location to another with open orders is possible with a MOVE label. Orders are held at that MOVE label until the relocation is complete. Orders can then be picked from the new location.

Not manually accessible
Locations can be marked as being not manually accessible. Orders will first be picked from locations that are manually accessible. Orders from locations that are not manually accessible will appear as a separate pick stream in the scanner or must first be replenished. It is possible for orders to be marked as backorder after replenishing. This happens if a stock reservation is made after the orders are assigned to the bulk location and before replenishing. After replenishing, the orders are verified again which activates the stock reservation. This was not the case before because the orders had already been prepared for picking.
